Digital Switchover Help Scheme
Television is going digital all over the United Kingdom. The traditional analogue television signal covering the Hartlepool area will be switched off in September this year.
The switchover means that, if you haven't got digital television already, you will lose your television service when the analogue signal is switched off.
The Switchover Help Scheme has been set up by the government and is being run by the BBC. Its aim is to make the switchover to digital TV easier for older and disabled people.
You can get help converting your television to digital if you:
- are aged 75 or over, or
- get or could get:
- Disability Living Allowance
- Attendance Allowance
- Constant Attendance Allowance
- Mobility supplement, or
- have lived in a care home for six months or more, or
- are registered blind or partially sighted.
If you are eligibile for help from the Scheme, you should receive a letter about it shortly. Alternatively, you can find out more about the Switchover Help Scheme by:
