Funding available for providers of short breaks

Parent-led forum '1 Hart, 1 Mind, 1 Future' and the Hartlepool Learning Disability Partnership Board are inviting applications for funding for 'short break' services.

Funding is available from:

  • The short break Capital Fund (Child & Adult Services)
  • The Carers Short Break Capital Grant (NHS Hartlepool)

Grants are available to individuals and organisations who are willing to provide and sustain short break services in Hartlepool for

  • Disabled children/young people, and/or
  • Carers, and/or
  • People with autism, and/or
  • People with learning disabilities, and/or
  • People with profound and multiple learning disabilities


Applications are invited for the following categories:

  • Small grants up to the value of £5,000.  This may cover the cost of pieces of equipment, such as hoists.
  • Medium size grants between £5,000 and £20,000.
  • Large grants between £20,000-£40,000.

The closing date for all applications is 9am on Monday 20 February 2012.
