Show you care about your community
Public-spirited people living Hartlepool are being offered the chance to prove just how much they care about their town.
Hartlepool Borough Council is looking to recruit a total of five resident representatives for the town's three neighbourhood consultative forums. Meetings to elect resident representatives will take place on 20,21 and 22 October 2010.
The forums, covering the north, centre and south of the town, meet every eight weeks and give local people the opportunity to raise issues and discuss matters of concern affecting their local area. Each forum is made up of a number of councillors and residents.
There are three vacancies in the south and one each in the central and north areas.
Denise Ogden, assistant director of Regeneration and Neigbourhoods at Hartlepool Borough Council said: "Resident representatives have played a major role within the forums since they were established in 2002, acting as a link between the forums and local neighbourhoods.
"This is a great opportunity for people to make a real difference to their local neighbourhoods and make things happen."
Residents can nominate either themselves or someone else within their community. To obtain an information pack contact Hartlepool Borough Council by:
- Email: customer.service@hartlepool.gov.uk
- Telephone: 01429 523088
Nomination forms must be returned no later than 12 noon on Friday 1 October.
